Traversing the Wall

Traversing means climb horizontal across the wall with no ropes or harnesses required. This activity requires skill, strength, flexibility, balance, hand eye coordination and agility.

Activities

 

  1. Walking alongside the wall and doing a simulated climb - Using only his/her hands while his/her feet walk forward on the gym mats. It is designed to introduce participants to the Traverse Wall in a non-threatening manner.
  2. Climb, drop/Jump off the wall and landing 
  3. Traversing the wall (3 point contact , side walk, quick hop) 
  4. Obstacle course on the climbing wall (hula hoops, tape, string or other items to create obstacles)
  5. Traverse and picking object from the rock 
  6. Relay race on the climbing wall

Coaches

Azrul & Bryan

Coaches Azrul and Bryan are Physical Education (P.E) Assistant Teachers at Mont’Kiara International School with 3 years and 2 years experience respectively in the Climbing Wall and Traversing the Wall P.E classes. They are both certified in the Level One Climbing Course.
